Privacy notice
How we handle personal data, in line with Rwanda's Law Nº 058/2021 on the protection of personal data and privacy.
Who is responsible for your data
FabLab Rwanda, KG 548 St, Kigali, Rwanda, is the data controller. You can reach us at info@fablab.rw or +250 789 276 080 for anything in this notice.
What we collect and why
When you send us a message through the contact form we collect your name, email address, an optional phone number, your chosen subject, and your message. We use this only to read and reply to your enquiry — nothing else.
Our lawful basis
We process this data on the basis of your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the contact form. The box is never pre-ticked, and you may withdraw consent at any time by emailing us — withdrawing is as easy as giving it.
How long we keep it
We keep contact enquiries for up to 2 years, after which they are deleted automatically. If you ask us to delete your data sooner, we will.
Who else sees it
Only FabLab Rwanda staff who need it to answer you. We do not sell your data, we do not use it for marketing, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes.
Where it is stored
Your data is stored on infrastructure located in Rwanda. If we ever need to move it outside the country, we will do so only with your consent or with authorisation from the National Cyber Security Authority, and under a written contract with the recipient.
Your rights
You may ask us for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive it in a portable, machine-readable format. Email us and we will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to the National Cyber Security Authority.
Security
Data is transmitted over TLS, stored with access limited to staff who need it, and never written into our application logs.
