About FabLab Rwanda

We design almost anything

Increasing Rwanda's competitiveness in design, engineering, electronics, fabrication and high-tech innovative business.

Who we are

FabLab Rwanda was established on May 12th, 2016, by ICT Chamber in partnership with Rwanda Development Board (RDB), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Ministry of Education, SolidWorks Corporation, MIT-CBA, and Gasabo3D. The space provides a platform for capacity building and integration of hardware skills with software knowledge, bringing Rwandan innovators closer to the Internet of Things era.

Our mission

To provide knowledge and skills, access to the tools, and the means to innovate and invent using technology and digital fabrication — allowing anyone to make almost anything.

Our vision

To be a well-established digital fabrication company in Rwanda that meets customer needs and delivers on time.

What we stand for

Our core values

Innovate

We believe everyone may have innovative ideas and should have the space to turn those ideas into products. We encourage creative and inspirational ideas that help the community.

Collaborate

Union makes strength. No one can solve the challenges in design and digital fabrication alone. A community working together creates greater impact than individuals can alone.

Think Big

In digital fabrication we challenge everything we do. We challenge our own ideas to see what is genuinely possible to implement.

Support our work

Donations make our innovation programs and training accessible to everyone, and support trainees moving into long-term employment.
